Visual Communications
In a visual communications class first year we were assigned to recreate drawings, create new perspectives from existing plans, and dissect parts of buildings to understand how it was erected. The first pictures show a drawing and a model of the House of the Faun in Pompeii, Italy. The ruins of the building that are currently in place only give some insight to what the house actually looked like. It was my job to represent what I believed it was meant to look like. The second project is a perspectival sketch of the Lovell Beach House by Rudolph Schindler that was created from plans and sections of the building. The third is the dissection of Louis Kahn's Exeter Library.
